HASEGAWA 1/72 AH-64 Longbow Apache – A Building Review

A great kit.. :) Kit Rating: 9 / 10 ( There are some parts you’ll have to scratchbuild, other than that the kit is excellent! Good fit, nice detail) Decal Rating: 9 / 10 (The decals are a bit thick, but goes on nicely with a drop of Klear) Paint Rating: 6 / 10 (I used Revell enamels, as that was the most accurate colour shades I could find! I prefer to ue Humbrol) Music: Get a move on, by Jason Shaw @ audionautix.com Modellers wants YouTubers, by GerbilEssences Info from Wikipedia All photos and videoclips by BasicModelling (All Rights Reserved) Enjoy…

@MarcianoMMA Not surprised really, as they’re always in the thick of the action.. :)

I love how Apaches always look dirty.

@fmcVlad True, the Apache has seen a lot of combat.. and has proven itself, especially the British improved version (Westland Apache Longbow AH-1), which has more powerful engines and a better self defence system than the US original… I have the old Matchbox kit, plus the Airfix Lynx used by the Royal Navy.. sadly I have no spare decals at the moment, or I would have sent you some!

@BasicModelling Yes, this is good helicopters, but they are not at war. Perhaps Mil-24, he has combat service as a veteran.
I have a 1:72 Lynx from Frog. I want to build it, but I do not have decals to it.

@fmcVlad The Lynx is a great helicopter, but more used for transport these days, I think.. I think the Kamov 50 & 52 are more in line with the Apache.. :)

good model! Apache is perhaps the most combat helicopter in the world. may only Lynx with him can compete.

Hasegawa has the ability of making magnificent models with easy-to-follow instructions. Very well recommended for both model beginners and experts :)
I like this scale Apache far better than the real thing (I´m afraid I always found the Apache awful; effective as it may be as a combat copter >:/

only difference between to alpha model and the delta is that everything went digital and got heavier..

the alpha model can still out manuver the delta anytime anywhere.

It’s not easy to say.. but I wouldn’t be surprised if the 1/72 HobbyBoss kit has got more detail than THIS kit, if their Cobra kit is anything to go by.. The Academy kit is supposed to be good as well, or so I have been told.. but I enjoyed this kit, and even though there’s a few little bits missing, it’s not a bad kit.. and scratchbuilding is fun! I will add some handles / steps to it later, as they’re missing too.. :)
