    To connect the tank tracks together. On this particular model, there are two rubber tracks, each with a “male” and “female” end with two holes, and two protrusions. One slips the two through the holes, uses heat to melt them, and presses the protrusions down flat so that the track stays together. That done, one “simply” attaches the tracks to the wheels of the tank(I remember long ago angrily screwing those up from time to time).
