Corsair 620W Modular Power Supply”Modular power supplies are fantastic because they enable you to use only the leads necessary for your particular setup. This means a reduction in the amount of cables inside the case which not only looks great, but also increases airflow. The Corsair 620 watt power supply meets today’s standards, protections, has Active PFC, and has 80%+ efficiency. It also comes with a quiet 120mm fan and is NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFire ready. I have a suggestion, you should state a recommended set up for a power supply.
Overall, u are a “kickass” reviewer.

Yeah it’s running fine now just when I got the box and read that it left some doubt in my mind but thanks ^^

Nice
I have the VX550W right now, and I’m upgrading to this HX 620 to run a second card for folding@home (GTX 260 216SP main card, 9800GT secondary card, non-SLI setup)

no problem anny more i have crossair vx 550w whit 41a on 12 volt rail and im running xfx 5750
works great

You add the numbers up. Again, this power supply can run an 8800GTX SLI setup, which takes up much more power than a single card with 25A requirement.

You add the amperage ratings together. A review website has proven that this model can run an 8800GTX SLI setup (using additional molex-6 pin power adapters), which gobble up much more power than 24A.
In short: you’ll be fine

@BAYCITYAIRSOFT, should be fine, Corsair make good and stable PSU’s.
You may want to go with a 650W minimum to be sure, and 750W for headroom, later upgrades or expansions or just to stop fluctuation.

@VxGhostz, what sort of stupid question is that! :O
You plug the thing in the wall socket.
If you order it in the UK you’ll get the right wall connection.
But it’s a PSU, the 230/240VAC connection on the PSU side of the cable is always the same, so you can use it in any country.
If you need help, just ask me or 3GM if you want advice.

does this psu work in the UK?
#13 written by scatmanwfm August 5th, 2010 at 00:17
I purchased an Evga gts 250 1gb because I thought that this power supply which is what I currently have, would run it but the GPU box says it requires 24 A on the 12v rail. Does it mean the rails each have to be more than 24 or that when you add them together they have to be more?
#14 written by oddha August 5th, 2010 at 01:17
damn the 12v has verry low amp, mine video card needs 25 amps on the 12 volt rail
#15 written by BAYCITYAIRSOFT August 5th, 2010 at 01:53
Would this be good for a q9550 and (1) gtx 275 ftw, and (3-4) 120mm fans and last a while?

rails are things that go up your nose but seriously 3d game man what do you think about multi rail vs single rail?

I have used the corsair hx620w for more then 5 years and it’s still going strong. I have recently upgraded my computer and therefore needed a new power suplly and because i was so impressed by the corsair hx620w i have ordered the HX850W. Corsair has the best PSU’s with the highest efficiency and are 80+ certified.
