Andi Bell explains the `link method` memory technique [2/2]

This is a cut segment from a larger documentary on the brain titled “BBC – Get Smart”; It reveals some of the techniques used by world champion Andi Bell. Andi holds the current world record for speed cards of 31.16 seconds. You can see more of his results at web.aanet.com.au . Andi Bell isn’t an autistic savant, meerly someone who has trained their brain to be able to memorize and codify information in the brain using advanced mnemonic techniques. If you’re interested in this kind of thing, let me know. I’ll be happy to give you more information. You can email me at tranceriver@gmail.com , and I will happily respond. I love emails :) . I will 100% respond. Hopefully you will enjoy this video as much as I did. This is the second half of two videos that I’ve uploaded. The first is located here: www.youtube.com , making this 2/2 .] Enjoy!

@EvanFreak Most anime characters are completely different–their personality or looks, if you mix your knowledge of you favorite characters with something you need to learn then you might be able to make a link, thus triggering your memory in an exam.

i disagree this can be applied to anything that can be taught and science and math are not the exception.

This is great for subjects which require rote learning, but not for subjects like maths and science which require logic.

I have used this technique successfully to learn vocabulary in my native Spanish. It works at least ten times faster than rote memorization and it’s a lot more fun.

methods like this do work if its time your worried about then
think about all the time wasted trying to remember it
with this it creates more cues and also stays in your long term alot stronger

My brother who is a Psychologist (from Peru) told me about that technique more than 10 years ago. Those are the basics but we can always accomodate this technique to our needs. My brother used to “create a story”. For example you want to remember ELEPHANT-APPLE-BRIDGE. Then you imagine the story unfold in your mind like this: I was walking in the park and saw an ELEPHANT eating an APPLE going towards a BRIDGE… Whatever works for you. Great videos!

Altho, how i can train myself to do it in mass quanities, i have yet to learn.
