I use this motherboard, and I can recommend it if you’re on a budget and still want SLI. It’s definately a bang for the buck, as you get a nice and functioning SLI board for the money, however it is no great OC platform, but great for the average gamer :)

@batudancer you wont get any more performance by lowering temps! it only affects your performance (in a bad way) if the temps go to something like over 80c – 90c if you want more juice out of your cpu get an aftermarket cooler and get the temps really low and then keep overclocking it untill it stays stable and within normal temps

what do I use to connect this Asus P5N-D Motherboard to a monitor, it dose not seem to take a VGA cable, or do I need a video card to do so?

@batudancer by “a new one” I’m speaking of the thermal thingy, not the core, LOL.

Alright so, I’ve been messing with my CPU for a while and I managed to plug all of the case fans (also another fan for the northbridge). Yet, my Core temp is 50-60. I realized that the thermal grease that goes on my core was almost gone. I will buy a new one tomorrow, but I’m still wondering, will my FPS go higher if I do this?, I realized that my GPU’s temp is normal (50C – 60C) while playing, which is normal for a GPU, so it’s gotta be the core I think. Awaiting for some answers, thanks!.

I see that you guys know a lot about all these stuff and I got a question, I’ve got this MOBO, a GeForce 9800GT, Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 – 2.33Ghz, 2 SATA 750 GB HDD, etc…

I used to play Modern Warfare 2 on very high FPS, but now, I bought my 2nd SATA HDD (I had to unplug 1 of my case fans in order to get the power for my HDD), and now, while I play, my FPS gone really low, and my CPU’s temp is around 60 (I know, really high). Should I plug another fan in order to get HIGH FPS?. Thanks!

with a qcore your shit out of luck, the oc abilities of this board are limited.. i have a e8600 in this and from what ive learned off my pals i should of gone for the e8400 it overclocks better even though the 84 is shit at stock (x2 6000 speeds). So what would i do.. well i own a p5ql-pro turbo and a p5ql pro so i dont need to wory about this high temp board.84 in a turbo benches at 2x the speed. p45 ehh. the p5ql-pro trounces this board also by 40%.Uses the chipset a lot more effectively.

yea? its the gpu that has the biggest impact. if u look at game benchies the i7 will have will have maybe 8fps max more over the highest end c2q’s. iduno bout you but for results such as that aren’t worth an 800$ upgrade..
