Mac Tip: Use Your Notebook in Desktop Mode

This is a pretty common request I get all the time, so I figured it’s finally time to make a video about it. This technique allows a Mac user to use their notebook in desktop mode, also known as using an external monitor as the main workspace. If you have any questions regarding this tip, feel free to post a common or send a message. Also please don’t forget to check out my Ustream from March 15-23 and my blog that is updated almost daily: www.ustream.tv thecreativeoneblog.blogspot.com Thanks for watching!

@xjod9 Yeah I don’t know why you wouldn’t. If you’re home with a separate display, you’d be able to have the laptop charging… weird… hehe

You can activate “Desktop” mode on a pc (I am a mac, but my mom’s computer is a pc). What you do is change your display settings to do nothing when you close the lid and when connected to an external display it will be used as a main. I love your videos!!
