got a question, are front panel connectors for the LEDs necessary or their just to make it easier, can LEDs be connected to the motherboard without the front panel connectors?

This board “guarantees stability” so don’t worry, it will never die. EVER. but true story, its a decent board. er, was a good board.

lol yeah of all his motherboard reviews, this one has to be near to the bottom of least informative. but sniffing the formaldehyde off the motherboard is good salesmanship. still he’s pretty good for having to be put on the spot and having to talk about a different motherboards, what are you going to do. a lot of the features across all of them are the same , so you have to hype what little differences there are

ah damn I can’t watch. The guy is lame. And either he doesn’t know crap about computer components and how it all works or he is just nervous and mixes shit up!

Thanks for the try though Captain Sarcastic

LOL. I own this mobo. Imagine the Phenom II X3 720BE overclocked to 3.6Ghz with out even disturbing the core voltage and it runs absolutely stable. I can reach 4.0Ghz on this board by just cranking up the voltage on the v.core. Damn stable. The only downside on this mobo is that its running on SB600. Unable to unlock my 4th core. But heck yeah.. its a good motherboard.

I love this board. The only downside for me is that it is DDR2 instead of DDR3, but Crossfire/BIOS features/AM3 support more than make up for that.

Yes u are probaly right about that! maybe u should email asus just to make sure :)
I would check for u but I threw that disc out the day I bought the board. I never used disc supplied by manufacturer because most of the time the drivers are outdated or they have bloatware! I download everything I need from manufactures websites which is the way to go for optimal performance in your pc

    Ohh I am using this M.B. with a AM2+ phenom 940 oc’d to 3.9 ghz @1.52V
with just air cooling (ocz vendetta 2 cpu heatsink) I have a watercooling setup on the way and plan to push this M.B. and cpu well past 4ghz :)

Maybe u should contact asus directly via email. I am pretty sure this board is compatible with am3 socket. Listen when u buy a new motherboard u should always “flash” to the newest bios that is available for your mainboard. All u have to do is google the M.B. part # + newest bios update

in the asus disk, there is an updater too. could i use that than just manually download the bios? coz i heard when u do update on the Asus driver cd, it updates the bios. that tue?

    damn :/

but if i get an AM3 socket compatible and DDR2 memory board. do i still have to do that?

coz i was gonna buy the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4
that supports AM3 socket but has DDR 2 memory

U have to flash the bios! first u need to download the new bios then put on disc….. if u don’t know how I wouldn’t mess around! just take it to a computer store they should update for like $15
