#11 written by GrimTheToad October 19th, 2010 at 14:31
@cleveer0719 i know, but what im saying is UN-OC’d it has better performance
#12 written by cleveer0719 October 19th, 2010 at 14:55
@GrimTheToad I just don’t like the idea of OC using Turbo Boost. Just my thing. And besides does the Maximus III Extreme support unlocked CPUS? Anyways just my opinion, i have a 750 already bought it when it first came out cause i7 (1366) is to expensive. Anyway the i7 875K is a good CPU just not my cup of tea.
#13 written by GrimTheToad October 19th, 2010 at 15:26
@cleveer0719 but it offers much better performance for 30 bucks more… it literally makes no sense why you would get the 860 uless you already have, got a good deal, and thats it…
#14 written by cleveer0719 October 19th, 2010 at 15:57
@GrimTheToad The 875K you overclock with turboboost. For some that mayb good but for me i would just get 860.
#15 written by GrimTheToad October 19th, 2010 at 16:10
@JohnnyKanuk just get the 875k, better then the 870, unlocked, and only about 30 bucks more then the 860 (not gonna question intel their but its good =)
#16 written by baconbitz44 October 19th, 2010 at 16:37
do those chrome capcitators get in the way of 1156 waterblock and bigger air coolers like tuniq towers?
#17 written by JohnnyKanuk October 19th, 2010 at 16:55
@thereddog223 you realize that the 860 has the same architecture as the 920 only big difference is the triple channle ram. The 860 clock for clock is better and as for gaming it’s more GPU than CPU so they will get pretty much the same FPS. Now that said. If you are looking to go Quad SLI then yes the 920 or any 1366 is better. I just wanted to point out to you that your statements are not correct but you seem to not understand so I am leaving it alone not worth the energy. Enjoy you 920
#18 written by thereddog223 October 19th, 2010 at 17:24
Ive Googled It and compared the bench marks and the i7 920 and 930 are better in games as well so do not bother to tell me to do research.
#19 written by JohnnyKanuk October 19th, 2010 at 18:04
@thereddog223 You may want to google yourself some reviews there before you open your mouth more. Unless you are doing video encoding, editting, and the like. The 860 does the same if not better then the 920/30 its in every review out there so go do some research.
#20 written by thereddog223 October 19th, 2010 at 18:24
The 860 does not even compare to the 920 the 870 barely does and only because its higher clocked.
#21 written by JohnnyKanuk October 19th, 2010 at 18:37
@thereddog223 well then get a 920, then get a board with all the extras this one has and let us know how much that cost ya, oh then get the ram. Other than the ram being tripple channel for the 920, the 860 goes toe to toe with the 920, acutally with the 930 but your more than welcome to get whatever chip you want. I will go for the cheaper setup and get the same performance, but thats just me.
#22 written by daxer305 October 19th, 2010 at 19:37
@aimmordi1 yah since its the same socket type
#23 written by thereddog223 October 19th, 2010 at 20:24
The 860 is the same price as the 920 so if I am paying 300 for a cpu I might aswell get the i7 920.

@thereddog223 not rly pointless, plz google more info.
