I bought a new Acer netbook a couple weeks ago. I was so excited to receive my new computer. I have a tendency to over shop things and had been looking at netbooks for about 6 months. I watched the model lines turn over and compared the features, prices and specs of every computer I could find. I picked Acer because of the great specs for the price as well as a long history of positive experience with Acer. Well, I am here to say that things at Acer have changed. The quality of the products have changed. The quality is horrible. I received my new computer with broken keys that stick constantly. I had started installing software to the system prior to noticing the keyboard problem so I really did not want to send it in. I contacted technical support and got some of the worst service I have ever received from a computer company. I emailed looking for a simple answer as to whether I could fix the problem myself or if it had to go in and I was blown off. It seems that I mistyped the serial number and they cannot answer questions without a correct number. I find it odd that they can respond with such information yet not answer a simple question. I replied with the serial number and my question again. (I had changed a 0 into a O the first time). The second email told me they can\’t help because I had not registered my brand new product. But, the problem must have been me anyway, they said I must have gotten it wet or dropped it in order to have caused such a thing. I replied yet again that I would register once the problem with the brand new device was fixed and no it was never dropped or wet or any other such thing. It was removed from the box, set on a table and plugged in. Nothing else. I also asked to be upgraded to a manager as no one would answer the simple question of whether I could fix a couple keys myself or had to send it in. Well, that was a 6 days ago now and I have had no further reply. In fact, I have sent additional emails and nothing. Apparently the new Acer makes so much money that they no longer have any interest in helping their customers or supporting their products. I have also heard from a friend that other people have been having the same problems with Acer and he does not recommend them any more. Stick with Asus for cheap computers and the name brands for your everyday needs. Stay as far away from Acer as you can!!!

Excellent Netbook
I bought this Acer for 2 reasons: portability and long battery life. At first I thought I would be disappointed with the small screen but it is very bright and
the computer seemed a little slow loading pages at first. I ordered a Kingston 4GB
upgrade( as is suggested ) and wow it really picked up speed. Overall I would give it an excellent rating.
I took it on my first business trip and used it extensively in the hotel room and it did the job just fine. If you are considering ordering one and it is not fast enough for you go to Kingston website and it will scan your netbook and tell you exactly what to order. It is a very simple installation for anyone and well worth the price.
This is a very nice netbook and I am most pleased.

While it’s not perfect, the Aspire One 532H-2326 is a sweet little computer. Easy to transport, quick to start up and easy to use once you get used to the smaller keyboard. And who can say no to 8+ hours of battery life.
If you are looking for a light weight netbook that is high on battery power and breeze to use this one will fit the bill.
P.S. Get the extra RAM you will be happy you did.

Great netbook if you get the right stuff
Once I got it working, it seems great; however, it does need the 2GB memory.
I started out with -2588 (160GB disk) and could not get it to recognize a 2GB DDR2 PC5300 chip from Kingston or PNY. I actually bought that machine from Staples, and their tech said that Acer changed the specs and it no longer takes more than 1GB.
However, reading the comments on Amazon I will return the device to Staples and I already bought the -2326 with the Crucial memory listed on Amazon. It works like a champ!! Recognized the 2GB chip immediately. Didn’t need to go into setup (F2), and it seems far zippier than the 1GB machine.
However, before I tried it, I looked at the Crucial website which suggested in red to be sure that machine had latest BIOS upgrade. I asked Acer Support about this and got the following reply: “Please be informed that the memory in your system is expandable only up to 1 GB.” So Acer seems to be saying 1GB only, but with the Crucial 2GB memory it seems to work well. Of note, the 2GB Crucial chip as bundled by Amazon says DDR2 but when I run CUPZ-CPUID, it says it’s a DDR3 chip.
In any case, so far so good, and happy with the 2GB configuration. I wonder if the system is pushing the limits and if ACER has pulled back because some 2GB chips don’t work.
But for now, I’m smiling.

The Market are too Advanced for Your Computer

To illustrate the importance of accessorizing, we like to use the “plain dough” analogy. Let’s say that a brand new computer is a batch of plain dough – waiting to be flavored and baked into something useful. If we want to use this dough to make a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies, we would need to “accessorize” this dough with chocolate chips and a little brown sugar. If we want to use this dough into in a warm loaf of sesame seed bread on the other hand, we’d need to “accessorize” the dough with yeast and sesame seeds.
Like “plain dough,” the brand new computer isn’t very useful by itself. It needs accessorizing.
Depending on what’s needed, accessorizing doesn’t need to be expensive. In fact, you can get away with paying a minimal amount for extra software and hardware if these accessories are for children. It’s when these accessories are work requirements or when they’re needed to produce works of quality for any other reason that they can become rather expensive. And this expense applies to microphones, digital cameras, PDAs, scanners, video cams, and more.
Regardless of cost, it’s important to understand that accessories can become “necessities,” and that the best time to get them is the moment you buy a new computer. Waiting too long to accessorize can cause more problems than necessary because while you wait, manufacturers continuously develop new technologies – technologies that your computer won’t be able to accommodate in the future. Once you’re ready to accessorize, the new products on the market are too advanced for your computer and they just won’t work. This is a typical problem experienced by those who want to use hardware designed for Windows Vista on a Windows XP or Windows 2000 machine.
